In 2015 was fixed collapse of lambda baryon particle composed of three quarks, the J/ψ-meson, proton and charged kaon. The pentaquark appeared in an intermediate state during the reaction. He later broke into the J/ψ-meson consisting of two quarks, and the proton consisting of three quarks.

The statistical significance of the opening is nine standard deviations. In particle physics the discovery is made if this value is at least five standard deviations.

LHCb — the smallest of the four main detectors at the LHC. It is designed to study the asymmetry of matter and antimatter in the interactions of b-quarks. Installation of LHCb is a single arm spectrometer, able to record the tracks of particles in the range of angles from 15 to 300 milliradians.
