“Hubble,” got the wrong galaxy

Scientists using a telescope “Hubble” has received the NGC 2337, which is located at a distance of 25 million light years from Earth in the constellation Lynx.

As reported on the website of the telescope, NGC 2337 is an irregular galaxy, i.e. it has no fixed shape and cannot be attributed to a particular type.

Galaxy was opened in 1877, French astronomer Edouard Stephan. The study of irregular galaxies allows astronomers to obtain important information about the evolution of galaxies and intergalactic interaction.
