Turkey officially lifted the ban on table football that operated for 48 years. About it reports Russian service “Bi-bi-si”.
In January the constitutional court of the country ruled the game from the list of prohibited sports. The court ruled that the table football is based on physical skills, not having a detrimental effect on work or family, and also improves brain health.
The Ministry of customs and trade of Turkey lifted a ban on sales of the game. Earlier it was forbidden to produce and import equipment for table football and for participating in the game was threatened with a prison sentence of up to five years.
In Turkey, gambling is strictly regulated, says BBC. Pinball and roulette still illegal. The constitutional court expressed the view that these games should also fail to qualify as a crime.
