Scientists discovered in the piece of amber age of about 100 million years wingless wasp parasite.
Researchers have identified parasitic wasps without wings, which are more than 100 million years.
All samples were preserved in amber found in Myanmar, located in Asia.
Wasps, called Aptenoperissus burmanicus, is already extinct. The scientific staff came to the conclusion that this species crawling on the ground at the base of the trees, trying to find another place to lay it’s eggs. “When I first looked at this insect, I had no idea what it was,” said George Poinar Jr., Professor Emeritus in the College of science at the University of Oregon.

But the face looked almost like a wasp, and we finally decided that it had to be some sort of Hymenoptera, ” said the study’s author.
Aptenoperissidae is part of a larger genus of Hymenoptera, which includes modern bees and wasps. And in this family, the representative is the only known copy. However, the area where the fossil was restored, located in the valley of Myanmar, where they found more than 200 species. The experts will continue to study other insects.
