Since 1980 the Western United States suffers much less from cold than the East.
Scientists from Stanford and Columbia universities conducted a joint study and found that the winter of 2016 in the USA can be extremely cold.
A report published in the journal of Geophysical Research.
Despite the fact that on Earth there is a global warming, some regions this year will face extremely low temperatures. According to experts, this is due to the anomalous circulation patterns, which carries the cold air from the poles of the planet in the middle latitudes.
Experts have found that since 1980 the Western United States is much less suffering from the cold than the East. Over time the difference becomes more noticeable, which confirms the statements of scientists about climate change caused by human activity. The researchers believe that their assumptions may be false, but Washington still needs to prepare for potentially dangerous and difficult time of year.
