Microorganisms quickly accustomed to the role of the characters of the classic game Pac-Man.
Norwegian researchers have built a miniature maze like those that can be seen in the game Pac-Man, and filled it with microorganisms.
Project implementation was carried out by the team from University College in southeastern Norway and the Institute of micro and nanotechnology. The researchers sought to study the behavior of microorganisms in the environment, conditions which are closer to natural than in the Petri dish.
Scientists do not manage their subjects, as in a computer game. However, they note that single-celled organisms behaved like Pacman, and the multicellular – like ghosts, which clashes with the classic game you had to avoid.
