According to the rules of quantum behavior, the cat can be simultaneously alive and dead until the box is opened.
Experts from Yale University, located in the United States, has created a “new breed” of schrödinger’s cat, cut it into two halves.
Now the world-famous character not only can be dead or alive, but to be in two places at once.
Schrödinger’s cat – part thought experiment presented by physicist Erwin schrödinger in 1935. Its essence is that in a sealed box placed cat and a special device with a container filled with a poisonous substance. The mechanism can open when a radioactive atom decays, that may not happen. In the end, to know the condition of the animal is only one way – to open the box. Up to this point the cat is considered alive and dead at the same time. This experiment explains the term “quantum superposition” – the set of all States in which can be any object.
Recently, physicist Robert Schoelkopf and his colleagues have created an advanced model study of Schrodinger. They learned to “share” the pet in a separate part. A box for their cat was a two coupled microwave resonator. Inside them there are only photons at specific wavelengths. If these cameras are to place the group of photons “entangled” with each other on a quantum level, the entire structure is considered to be a single Schrodinger’s cat “cut” into two fragments. Thus what occurs in one resonator, will reflect on the state of the particles in the second chamber. Thus to learn about the condition of the “cat” can be found only if both the “drawer” open.
