Head of restoration at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre Anthony Maropolo said that experts are planning to open a small window in the marble slab over a Bed of Jesus Christ. Such a statement she made on Sunday, October 30.
According to Marcopolo, through the pilgrims will get an opportunity to see part of the Bed of the Resurrection.
“We opened the coffin and did the work, now Holy stone is closed. Designs that support the aedicule (the tomb), a fortified, and by March we hope to finish work on the reconstruction of three-day Bed of the Lord and show the results to the representatives of the three religions”, — said the restorer.
She explained that the aedicule many centuries threatened the moisture and candle soot. “Of course, we understand that the underground construction of the temple of the Holy Sepulchre — it is a living system full of tunnels, water channels, tanks. We are all recorded because the flood can jeopardize the status of Edicule,” added Maropolo.
