Astronomers call exoplanets, claiming the status of “second Earth”
The researchers identified 20 exoplanets that can claim the status of “second Earth”.
As reported on the website Science alert, the data of extrasolar planets with high probability may exist extraterrestrial life.
In the study, researchers studied more than four thousand exoplanets which were discovered with a telescope “Kepler” and called 20, who is most likely to be rocky and habitable.
According to one of the study’s authors, Steven Kane, “it is a complete directory of all the planets, open the “Kepler”, which are in the habitable zone of their stars. This means that we can focus on these planets and to conduct further research to learn more about them, including whether they are suitable for life.”
At the moment, with the help of a telescope “Kepler” was opened 4706 candidates in exoplanets, of which 2327 were confirmed. Of this total, Kane and his colleagues chose 216, which are located in the habitable zone of a star.
And among these 216 exoplanets, the researchers identified 20, which most likely are rocky and resemble the Earth in size.
