YEREVAN, may 29 – news-Armenia. Recently NASA added 1284 object to the list of planets outside the Solar system, the existence of which is confirmed. Now these exoplanets, there are more than 3000, and that’s just those that people can detect.

Scientists believe that almost every star in the milky Way have, on average, at least one planet rotating around it. Only one in our galaxy more than 100 billion stars. With such a scale it is hard to believe that we are the only inhabitants of the Universe.

Futurist.ru offers a look at some of the most promising places we could find life outside of our system.

Scientists judge whether a planet be inhabited, on the basis of such factors as size, kamenistoe of soil and distance from the parent star. More than a rocky planet and the closer it is to the habitable zone where planets can have liquid water on the surface, the more chance it could be habitable.

Here are eight of the brightest candidates for the role of planets with organic life.

Kepler-442b

If you rely on the factors listed above, this planet needs to be habitable even with a high probability, than the Earth. The size of this exoplanet, open in 2015, is comparable to the size of the Earth. The distance from our planet – about 1100 light years (1 light year – 9 460 730 472 581 km). It rotates in the habitable zone of a star slightly cooler than our Sun. If Kepler-442b will be quite rocky, the planet can be approximately two times more massive than Earth.

This planet was discovered in 2014. It is about 10% bigger than Earth and has a fairly rocky terrain. The planet is in the habitable zone of its star, which is cooler and redder than the Sun. Distance from the Earth is 500 light-years.
