The researchers found in the great pyramid two previously unknown cavity. Information was confirmed by the Egyptian Ministry of antiquities.
The experts found these voids during radiographic scanning of the pyramid. One of them is located in the Northern part of the pyramid, the other in the North-East. Both are reminiscent of the corridors. It’s hard to say if they might be connected.
The scan was part of the project ScanPyramids launched in October 2015. The aim of scientists was to discover the room inside the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre at Giza, as well as Houndstooth and Pink pyramid in Dahshur. The project uses infrared thermography,radiography and 3D reconstruction. Now the scan results are sent to the laboratory for further studies.
