Spain found a unique historical find. Workers stumbled upon the chock full of coins, Roman amphorae.
Plumbers of the town of Tomares just had to lay a new drainage line in the southern region of Andalusia. According to eyewitnesses, only found coins at 590 pounds. They were all hidden in 19 vessels. Part of the amphorae preserved intact, and some were already damaged.
High-value coins not only adds to their impressive number, but excellent condition. From the point of view of numismatics, they were released by the mint but never visited, as evidenced by the complete lack of traces of wear.
Now the coins look like aged bronze, but once they were plated with silver. “The cost of archaeological finds already estimated at several million euros” – said the head of the Archaeological Museum of Seville, Anna Navarro.
