People continue to find the remains of ancient creatures on the planet. However, some findings are of greatest interest.
So, in the territory of Austria were found the remains of a mammoth — two long tusks. The length of each is approximately two and a half meters. According to the preliminary analysis, the age of the fossils is estimated at one million years. Scientists believe that the find is unique.
In Europe rarely find remains of giant animals belonging to rare species. This species appeared long before the long-haired mammoth, which for the purpose of subsistence and of production the skins of hunted human ancestors.
Themselves the tusks were discovered completely by accident. No planned paleontological excavations were not carried out. During the construction of a new motorway in Austria road workers stumbled upon a huge unknown size artifacts.
After a detailed study it turned out that the artifacts are giant tusks belonging to the rare species of mammoths. Experts intend to continue the study of tusks, to conduct a series of tests, and then valuable exhibit will be unveiled at the Vienna Museum of national history.
