Paleontologists from Sweden and China found that the first beings with the same human jaws have become ancient armoured fish that lived over 400 million years ago. A study published in the journal Science.

While normal fish had bony plates instead of a full jaw, the tubular jaw of the fish consisted of three main parts — the tooth, the maxillary and premaxillary bones. Min Joo (Min Zhu) with colleagues a few years ago found the fish, Entelognathus primordialis, which had such a jaw structure. But then the scientists could not say with confidence that the jaw was all armored fish.
Now the same group of researchers found in China, the new fish Qilinyu, which was defined as “relative” Entelognathus. Both fish lived in a single time period and had the same structure, so the researchers said that modern vertebrates owe their armored jaw fishes.
Also biologists have determined that the armored fish are the most ancient beings with real teeth. The jaws armoured fish were dotted with numerous resembling teeth-like protuberances, which had the dentine and root canal.
