Physicist Joan Vaccaro (Joan Vaccaro) from Griffith University in Australia believes that the time in the Universe and the laws of conservation could occur due to violations of temporal symmetry (T-symmetry). She stated this at the annual Australian science festival National Science Week.
According to the researcher, she uncovered the mechanism by which some physical phenomenon is irreversible. For example, the second law of thermodynamics forbids transfer of heat from the less heated body to more heated one. In particular, the physicist drew attention to the behavior of mesons — particles that participate in strong interaction, which is responsible for communication between the quarks. Earlier experiments showed that when applying the time transformation of these particles in other occurs with certain probability.
After studying the behavior of mesons, Vaccaro came to the conclusion that no violation of T-invariance in the Universe could happen strange things. For example, objects would be moved in time with the same ease as in space. Appearing at one point, they would immediately disappear. In such circumstances, the conservation laws are unable to work, says the physicist.
The next step, Vaccaro is the theoretical development of experiments that will test the predictions of its hypotheses.
