Now archaeologists have decided to show the public their findings and put them in the British Museum in London.
Scientists from the UK has shared with the journal Nature the first results of underwater excavations at the ancient Egyptian cities of Canopus and Tony-Heraklion, which sank during the Medieval times.
Archeologists explained that in the V century BC in the Nile Delta there were two large port city founded by Greeks and Macedonians during the reign of the 26th dynasty of pharaohs. Settlements survived the occupation of Egypt by the Persians, the war with Alexander the great and the conquest of the state by Rome, but in the 750-800 BC, for unknown reasons, disappeared. At the beginning of the XXI century Canopus and Tony-Heraklion were discovered by specialists from the Institute of underwater archaeology in Paris.
At the moment there are still excavations are conducted, which bring researchers of many different artifacts, including statues, ornaments of gold and bronze, more than 750 of anchors and 69 ships.

The exhibition consists of Pharaonic monuments and deities, jewelry, plaques and monuments of literature. All of these things one way or another tell about the culture, traditions and beliefs of the ancient Egyptians.
