Messages on Twitter can be longer.
The social network Twitter announced Tuesday in his blog about changes in the rules the limit of 140 characters, which was installed when running the service in 2006.
American Twitter Inc., owning the same microblogging service, has officially announced the change of the Statute of limitations on the number of characters in the message to 140 characters in the coming months.
Counting characters is canceled when the user puts media applications that use (photos, videos, gifs), said in the company blog, Twitter’s senior Manager Todd Sherman.
The 140 characters rule also ceases to operate in the replies to the tweets marked with the symbol @a name. New tweets that start with this character will be visible to all followers.
The Retweet button is activated in such a way that allows users to re-share their own messages and quotes.
One of the founders and the head of Twitter, Jack Dorsey said in a BBC interview that the aim of these innovations is to make life easier for users and make the messages more meaningful.
The company strives to ensure that developers of apps for third parties to adapt their products.
Twitter went on to change the rules of use for the sake of attracting new users, the number of which, in the opinion of company, is growing at a slow pace.
