The longest discharge ever recorded by man, stretches for about 321 kilometer.
In the US state of Oklahoma has observed the longest zipper ever recorded by man. The discharge extends 321 km, almost from one and to the other end of the state, reports Science Alert, citing the world meteorological organization of the United Nations.
To date the longest in lightning history was considered a discharge, which broke out in 2012 in France. The outbreak, which lasted 7,74 seconds, stretch for 200 kilometers.
Previously, scientists were of the view that lightning can reach no further than 32 kilometres from the thunderstorm. However, these observations refuted claims specialists.
At the same time the representatives of the world meteorological organization suspect that in nature there are more extreme examples, but man is unable to control them.
