And the banking sector is no exception. As it became known, the capital “Credit Europe Bank”, which is the largest in Russia financial institution with Turkish capital, is in active search of a new owner. And this subject deserves attention.

The nominal owner of CJSC “Credit Europe Bank” is a Dutch holding company Credit Europe Bank NV — the Corporation owns a 99.9 percent stake. However, the ultimate beneficiary of the holding of businessman Mustafa husny Ozyegin — is a citizen of Turkey. And so it is understandable his desire to minimize risks and to withdraw their capital from Russia became hostile. Experts do not exclude the possibility that very rapid transaction cost of the Bank may be significantly understated, which makes the purchase very attractive for bankers and other portfolio investors.

It should be noted that “Credit Europe Bank” is not only the largest Turkish Bank in Russia. It takes quite a strong position in Russian ratings of financial institutions. Thus, according to the ratings of recognized portal Banks.Ru “Credit Europe” occupies the 5th place by the number of outstanding credit cards. By rating, which is “Kommersant-Money”, the Bank periodically enters the Russian TOP-50 in net assets (in recent times places it in this list vary in the range of 48-51). Also “Credit Europe Bank” shows a consistently high positions in other rankings, compiled by powerful media and Internet portals: the most consumer banks (28), the cheapest car loans (19), the most budgetary banks (22), etc.

The worsening of relations with Turkey and a sharp reduction in economic and other relations was a result of the incident on 24 November last year, when the Turkish air force has shot down a Russian su-24 bomber on the Syrian-Turkish border. Subsequently, one of catapult pilots was shot by local militants, the second managed to save the result of a ground operation.
