The ISS will appear artificial gravity

To create artificial gravity will serve as the centrifuge with a small radius.

In the new module of the International space station (ISS), developed in Russia, will set the centrifuge to create artificial gravity. This was announced by Director of the Institute of biomedical problems (IBMP) of RAS Oleg Orlov.

“We recreated the centrifuge with a small radius. Was shown the potential of this method for simulating artificial gravity (…). The small radius centrifuge used to create artificial gravity for the transformed module is currently being developed by RSC Energia,” — said Orlov.

The new module is similar to the American Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM). He was taken to the station in late may and is intended for accommodation of the crew of the orbital complex. Russian inflatable compartment will also be used to expand living and working space.
