Previously unknown living organisms were found in the Black sea at a depth of 1960 meters. It is reported by the National Agency of environmental protection of Georgia.
In may 2016 the Agency in cooperation with Ukrainian and European colleagues held an international expedition.
They took from the depth of 1960 metres of the Black sea samples, which were later investigated by different scientists in different laboratories. As a result of researches scientists have found that the theory of servigny living organisms living below 200 meters of the Black sea level has lost its relevance, since at a depth of 1960 meters also inhabited by living beings.
The experts who conducted deep-sea expedition, and took to the study of 233 samples of living organisms: 48 macrozooplankton, 53 mesoplankton, 48 ikhtioplanktona and 62 samples of phytoplankton. According to scientists, the samples obtained will help to conduct a partial study of the diversity of life in the Black sea.
