A crucial time in the history of Japan.
In 1964, the year Japan made the next step in the development of the country, and many historians consider a turning point. Photographer Michael the Gun (Michael Rougier) did a photo essay about the youth of the time, showing them a world without bills.
In some frames the lives of the new generation of Japanese seem permissible even too intimate. However, we believe that the value of photographs of the Gun Michael (Michael Rougier). Photo project “Japanese protest of youth” was created by photographer together with reporter Robert Morse (Robert Morse). This year was Olympic for the country of the rising sun.
Also, this year was launched the first branch of high-speed trains Shinkansen. However, most importantly, the 1964 is the year of the emergence of generations “shinjinrui”, which translates as “new people”. People, not reminiscing about and for no reason all the events of the Second World war.
