Scientists analyzing the genomes of people from Australia and Oceania.
After conducting scientists analyze the genomes of Australians and people of Oceania, the experts came to the unknown species Homo, which the ancestors of modern humans interbred during the period of mass migration from Africa into the Pacific ocean.
Reports the journal Nature Genetics.
It is believed that out of Africa first Homo sapiens emerged about 60 thousand years ago. Some of those people went through the middle East towards modern Europe. The remaining part moved along the coast of Asia. Previously, scientists have found that people as the settlement of the continent was crossed with several kinds of natives, among them the denisovans and Neanderthals.
However, following the Spanish scientists analyze the genomes of Australian aborigines were found fragments of DNA that does not correspond to any lived in these parts of the hominin mind. Also, these DNA sequences exist in the genomes of today’s Europeans and Chinese. This implies that interbreeding with Homo unknown occurred on Islands of Oceania and South Asia.
