The newfound star is able to “absorb” the planet of its solar system.
A team of astronomers from Brazil have discovered 2 new planets that are located around Sun-like stars.
The observation was carried out at the Observatory, the Atacama in Chile.
Scientists from the unit of the University of Sao Paulo Institute of astronomy, Geophysics and atmospheric Sciences was observing planetary systems and compared them with Solar. While analyzing planets orbiting the star HIP 68468, astronomers have discovered the two new heavenly bodies and called them “Super Neptune” and “Super Earth”.
Leading specialist astronomer Jorge Melendez said that the planetary environment around the HIP 68468 very different from that in which the Land is situated. Super Neptune is much closer to its star than its counterpart in the Solar system. Super Earth three more times more massive than our planet, and its orbit is 3% of the distance of the Earth to the Sun. In fact, it “stuck” to the star HIP 68468, which is already 6 billion years.
Melendez said that this study shows the unusual properties of the stars. She is able to “absorb” the planet due to the high level of lithium in its composition, which is accustomed to meet in the planets, not the stars.
