Acer has announced a computer for cyclists.
As reported in a press release, Xplova X5 is the first in the industry computer for bike with ability to record video. The device is aimed at the growing market of enthusiasts with a focus on Cycling clubs, event organizers, media and other community members.
Xplova X5 is equipped with a wide-angle camera to record the exciting moments on the road. Intelligent algorithms allow the automatic recording of the three-second video clips based on pre-defined parameters, such as speed, heart rate, GPS coordinates, or a unique point of interest.
Recording can also be initiated manually. The user can collect up to eight clips into one video then upload to social media to share interesting events with friends. Video recording is 720p, TFT color touch screen offers comfortable viewing even under direct sunlight. The device is resistant to moisture according to the norms of the standard IPX7.
Xplova X5 essentially acts as a dashboard that presents data about the performance of the cyclist in real-time. The device displays metrics such as riding speed, distance, heart rate, cadence, etc. route Data can be synchronized and saved on the Xplova website to share with friends.
