A new study has found that in the future some of the oceanic Islands can become a diamond.
Experts said about a journey of minerals from regions where diamonds are formed. They penetrate into the earth’s core and coming back now for over 2.5 billion years.
Based on the theory of plate tectonics, many oceanic Islands can be perceived as products of mantle plumes. We are talking about the hot springs that burst from a large region of the magma. Volcanic basalt makes up the ocean crust. The presence of the light breeds of the continent contributes to immersion of minerals at a depth which is 3 000 kilometres, reaching the borders of the mantle core of the earth to rise again. It is worth noting that the basic theory extends its scope with intriguing nuance. This applies to high ratio of lead to uranium, and the solid rocks of the continent into the mantle, like fangs.
Together with a thin organic crust under them, often limestone, are rich in carbon. Once in a hot volcanic magma, located at the base of the continents, such carbon will be transformed, creating a diamond. However, as specified by the researchers, to look for diamonds in the Islands today is not worth it. It will have to wait at least a billion years.
