Scientists have unraveled the mystery cloud on Mars.
For the first time a mysterious cloud on the red planet, scientists were able to capture back in 2012. Now the cloud for ten days was on the territory of over 50 thousand square kilometers and forced the researchers to reflect on the nature of its origin.
And all because it was in the region significantly higher than where the water and carbon dioxide could form a cloud.
But scientists managed to establish that the plume is located in the ionosphere, and here gas envelope of the red planet interacts with charged particles from the Sun. Therefore, the cloud appears with a coronal mass.
Such phenomena have caused the change of space weather, which caused an increase in the leak rate of the plasma with the formation of clouds from the atmosphere of Mars.
