Scientists have taken a giant step on the path to uncovering one of the greatest mysteries of astronomy is the theory of dark matter.

Dark matter is not visible to the eye, but its presence in outer space has been proven. Its particles are unable to produce or reflect light, but scientists believe that this phenomenon creates a gravitational effect in our galaxy. Despite many studies, still, no one could determine the nature of dark matter, it is, in some ways, remains a mystery to date.
Recently, scientists have managed to advance the study of dark matter, they were able to measure the mass of its main construction element of the axion. Its weight is from 50 to 1500 microelectronic that is 10 billion times lighter than the electron. This information will help in the future to study dark matter, experts say. The exact number of the axion is not established, but presumably, for every cubic centimeter of the Universe there are 10 million of these elements, and in each cubic centimeter of the milky way – almost a trillion axions.
