The moon was once part of the Earth.
Researchers from Harvard reported that their work allowed to conclude that the Moon actually was once part of the Earth.
Analysis of the structure of the Earth suggests that it is close in composition to the ancient mantle of the Earth, and so, when it was a part, reported in the journal Nature.
The researchers suggest that the Moon separated from the earth after the collision with Theia that was detrimental to her, and our planet is a clash survived, having found then the satellite.
“Measurements of the isotopes have maximum accuracy, and they failed to show that the proportion of elements in the matter of the Earth and moon are different,” said one of the study’s authors kun Wang.
Previously, scientists assumed that the collision of the young Earth with Theia formed the ejection of matter from both bodies into space.
