Scientists have disproved the myth that labor turned a monkey into a human.
Archaeologists from Brazil and the UK found that the stones with cutting edges resembling tools, are not only apes, but other species of primates.
This discovery alters understanding of the evolution of man and his activities. The findings of scientists presented in an article in the journal Nature.
The study demonstrated that chimpanzees deliberately create the stones with cutting edges. But as it turned out, this is not something special for the group Hominini, which, in addition to chimpanzees, belong to the man and the gorilla.
Scientists have also watched the behavior of the black-striped Capuchin in Brazil. It turned out that these monkeys specifically breaking down the rocks, resulting in formation of flakes with sharp edges.
While these “tools” are very similar to those found in the areas of alleged sites of ancient people.
