A group of scientists from the Ames Research center (NASA Ames Research Center), the Institute of SETI (SETI Institute) and the University of Nevada (USA) found 24 exoplanets, called “hot Lands”.
In their work, scientists describe how, taking as initial set of a large group of planetary systems candidates that are opened from the space telescope NASA “Kepler”, they were gradually expelled from her planetary system containing at least one planet type “hot Lands”, and in the final run, we obtained a list of a few dozen planetary systems, consisting of isolated “hot Lands”.
Hot earth — size exoplanets with the planet that exist close to their stars, which makes them interesting, but hardly capable of supporting life, as most of them are tidal locked, in other words, one side always facing the star. These cosmic objects have a so-called synchronous rotation. This means that life on them is not feasible.
Scientists have directed all their forces to search for planets whose orbits are very close to the star. In this new study, the researchers drew attention to the planets the size of Earth, but extremely close to the star orbits in which a planet makes a full rotation in just two days. The Kepler telescope have helped scientists to find the 3000 planets with similar properties.
