The dinosaur was a gigantic predator that walked on two legs.
Researchers have described a new species of dinosaur, whose remains were discovered them 10 years ago.
As reported by CBC News, a new analysis of the remains showed that the lizard, probably is a new species of megaraptor.
Found the remains included several species of theropod: megaraptor, arborator and aerosteon, dinosaur centerpiece sizes, that had claws and big bones filled with air. Raptors inhabited the Earth about 80 million years ago.
The discovery of a new species of megaraptor specifies the location of the claw. As stated by one of the authors of the study, “what once was considered a claw located on the leg, actually was a part of the hand.”
In addition, scientists have determined that the femur of the dinosaur was filled with air, quite an unusual thing for the bones of a giant lizard.
According to researchers, the discovery of a new species of megaraptor will help them to trace the evolutionary development of this group of dinosaurs.
