Feces under high pressure is converted into a combustible liquid.
Specialists the Pacific Northwest national laboratory in the US created the method of producing fuel of the future from human feces. It is planned to process them by the method of hydrothermal liquefaction.
Hydrothermal liquefaction mimics the conditions of formation of oil in nature. The feces is heated to 650 degrees Celsius in a special tube under high pressure. After that they are converted into a combustible oily liquid.
Scientists estimate that excrement a person produces in a year, enough for receiving of 7.5-11 litres of fuel. But if the nature of the process of formation of oil lasted for millions of years in the lab getting the fuel took a few seconds.
