Created a special technology to turn carbon dioxide into alcohol.
Physics from the USA created a special technology to convert carbon dioxide into molecules of ethanol – normal alcohol.
To this end, they have developed a special nonoily of graphene and copper, using the energy of electric current, reported in an article of the journal ChemistrySelect.
Crumpling graphene sheets into a kind of “bunching”, the scientists planted the folds of nanoparticles of copper, which has led to the fact that the molecules of carbon dioxide split in strictly designated areas – peaks of graphene of nanoneedles.
The ultimate goal of the research is to find a way of turning atmospheric carbon dioxide into biofuels and other useful substances.
It is worth noting that the cost of such grafenovoy-copper catalysts is low, which will allow in the near future to implement developments in the industry.
