Scientists have found sea monster of the Jurassic period in Scotland.
In the Scottish Museum was the skeleton of a sea predator that lived in the Jurassic period.
The remains of the animal were kept in the petrified sarcophagus of the last 50 years, and was finally cleaned and put on public display.
Monster discovered in 1966 on the beach of the Isle of Skye. It was a four-meter deep-sea killer with several hundred cone-shaped teeth. The creature belonged to the family of ichthyosaurs that lived just before the dinosaurs, about 17 million years ago. They are considered ancestors of modern whales and dolphins.
Paleontologists said that the remains of a marine predator a century was kept in the layer of dense rock that for a long time failed to clear. But after the liberation of the stone of the sarcophagus, the skeleton proved to be one of the most complete fossil ever found in Scotland.
