Scientists have made a surprising discovery.
Researchers have found water clouds on subcolonies dwarf are objects born like stars, however much “in common” with their planets.
The results of the study of American astrophysicists can be found in the publication Astrophysical Journal Letters, and a brief overview provided the University of California at Santa Cruz (USA). Attention of specialists attracted subsidy object WISE 0855, which was opened in 2014 with an infrared telescope Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer.
This subcolony dwarf is located at a distance of 7.2 light-years from our planet. It is about five times that of Jupiter – the largest planet in the Solar system. The atmospheric temperature WISE 0855 is -23°C.
As it turned out, the object is surrounded by thick clouds of water vapor. Data were obtained through astronomical Observatory Gemini Observatory. “This brown dwarf is five times dimmer than any other object, which we studied using ground-based spectroscopes on this wave length. Now we have his range, and we can begin to think about what happens to him. Our data show that in the atmosphere WISE 0855 dominated by steam and clouds, making it remarkably similar to Jupiter,” says representing the University of California, Santa Cruz Andrew Skemer (Andrew Skemer).
Subcarinate dwarfs are the cool forces, which by their weight are below the limit of brown dwarfs. If the analogy with the latter, subcarinate dwarfs are somewhat closer to the planets than to stars. Meanwhile, researchers there is no clear distinction between planet and dwarf subcolonies.
