The mysterious star Tabby for five years does not give rest to astronomers from around the world.
Star Tabby, the second name Boyajian, was discovered by the space Observatory Kepler in 2011.
It is situated at a distance of 1,480 light years from earth in the Northern constellation of Cygnus.
In subsequent years, astronomers have written dozens of scientific papers on this star system, but at the moment have not figured out the origin of the strange phenomenon in its luminosity. Sometimes, almost all the stars change their brightness, as in front of them are the cosmic body, which shields the radiation of light from their parent star. Similar changes occur after a specified length of time and brightness of the stars decreases slightly.
With Tabby, things are different. Five years of observations of the brightness of the stars fell by 22% and this phenomenon lasted for different periods of time, sometimes they made up to five days, sometimes could last up to eighty.
While astronomers have not managed to identify the cause of anomalous behavior of the star Tabby. Put forward many hypotheses to explain this strange phenomenon. One of them is the passing comet, which for some time reduces the brightness of the stars. There is even a version associated with exposure to extraterrestrial civilizations. A clear answer astronomers have not yet found, and at the moment the behavior of the stars for us remains a mystery.
