Reuters found out about the request of Turkey to the EU for 20 billion euros

Reuters узнал о просьбе Турции к ЕС на 20 миллиардов евро

The Turkish leadership during the negotiations with the European Union was requested from Brussels € 20 billion to address problems associated with the migration crisis. About this Reuters said a diplomatic source.

On relevant issues summit Ankara has offered to take on the territory of the Republic of all refugees from Syria who have not received asylum in the EU or intercepted while trying to cross Turkish territorial waters. For this, Turkey needed financial assistance, and, according to the Agency interlocutor, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu at a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister of the Netherlands mark rutte has requested an amount exceeding a previously negotiated. We can talk including about 20 billion euros, said a source to Reuters.

At the same time, however, according to the head of the European Parliament (EP) Martin Schulz, Davutoglu requested from Brussels an additional three billion euros, reports RIA Novosti. “Requested an additional three billion by 2018 and the European Parliament is ready to do everything possible to speed up procedures, but it depends not only on TU but also on member countries if they are willing to allocate these funds,” — said Schulz after the first round of negotiations between the EU and Ankara.

On 9 February, the Turkish authorities told about the beginning of the reception of refugees fleeing from the fighting in the Syrian province of Aleppo. The day before the representative of the Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini, stated that Ankara, which had previously refused to pass migrants on its territory, has a moral — if not formal — commitment. According to her, the European Union provided Turkey with the resources to accommodate migrants and their protection.

In November 2015, the EU and Turkey have concluded a deal under which Ankara is allocated three billion euros to the running of Syria civilians were granted asylum on its territory and not tried to move to EU countries.
