The prototype also had no Ground control to search for signs of life on the surface of a celestial body. Roscosmos is responsible for the delivery of the module on the rocket-carrier, while the unit itself is made in Italy.
According to the Director of the Agency Jan Werner (Jan Worner), from the point of view of engineers, the mission of “Schiaparelli” was a success, despite the lack of signal on landing. Module reported on the passage of most of the planned stages, and the scientists gathered information about the problems are analyzed and will improve technology fit for further use.
In the framework of the ExoMars mission to Mars also brought the Orbiter Trace Gas Orbiter, which, in contrast to the “Schiaparelli” sent a signal about the successful delivery after it went into orbit of the planet. At an altitude of about 400 kilometers the device will be sought in the atmosphere of the red planet gases of biological origin.
