Researchers from Finland have recorded the sound of the Aurora.
Experts from Finland for 17 years, conducted research designed to answer the question of whether such a beautiful natural phenomenon as Northern lights, from making any sounds.
Unexpectedly, they managed to get the sound coming from the illumination of what they’re immediately told reporters.
In the journal Nature appeared a fascinating article on the subject that the availability of special equipment Northern lights can not only delight to see and hear. Researchers from the University of Aalto spent on this sensational study over 17 years. The result of watching another “space show” they concluded that the sound from the Northern lights occur at a height of approximately 70 – 90 meters above ground. At the same time the Aurora occurs at altitudes from 80 to 300 kilometers.
Scientists made a startling discovery, say that the study they were prompted by the numerous myths of the Scandinavian peoples. In their folklore the mysterious repeatedly mentioned the fact that during the Northern lights be loud and chaotic claps coming to earth. Sometimes they turn into a growing rumble that the ancient Finns took over the voices of the gods.
