The national aeronautic and space administration (NASA) auctioned humanoid robot mannequin used to test the lunar spacesuits.
A robot called a Power Driven Articulated Dummy was made in the image of man from aluminum plates, according to the portal Space.
The creature, which weighs 104 pounds, equipped with hydraulic joints for playback 35 basic human movements and sensors to determine the effects of the spacesuit on the astronaut.
The robot was used by NASA experts in 1963-65 years to test prototype lunar space suits. Only two test robot, the second is on display at the National Museum of aviation and cosmonautics. One of the problems in the use of robots began to leak oil eventually abandoned.
“The leak could ruin the suit. We didn’t want to risk it,” said Joe Kosmo, who worked as an engineer at NASA.
