Flash was formed on 23 July.
The Solar dynamics Observatory took this picture of three high solar flares, which was formed on 23 July.
As reported on the NASA website, at the moment the Sun experienced a period of low activity, so the flash became the first big object recorded on the star since April of this year.
Solar flares represent the emission of radiation. They can’t pass through the Earth’s atmosphere to physically harm humans but strong enough flares can affect communications and GPS signals.
