Jerusalem scientists have unearthed a unique ancient frescoes

They relate to the period when the territory was owned by the Roman Empire. The frescoes in the main part, consist of geometrical and floral motifs. Scientists believe that ancestors used them to decorate the house.

Valuable finds discovered in Sepphoris, considered to be the main Jewish center in the period of domination of Byzantium and Rome. During excavations in the Galilee, the archaeologists had previously found evidence of the presence of the Romans, but the frescoes discovered for the first time.

A complete picture of the frescoes, archaeologists had to collect from hundreds of found fragments. Guess this masterpiece of the ancient inhabitants wanted to highlight the building of special public importance.

During the excavations on its territory found several underground storage facilities. Some of them, I believe, was used as water tanks. Sepphoris, which is the Roman name Diocaesarea and Greek Sepphoris, located near Nazareth. Now this place is used in Israel as a national Park and archaeological site.
