Factors that contribute to good indicators of physical fitness of children – overcoming the significant distances on foot or by bike.
Researchers from the United States of America and Canada, represented by employees of the University of North Dakota, as well as specialists from Children’s hospital of Eastern Ontario, set out to determine in which country live the most physically active children.
Scientists have found that one of the first places — children living in Scandinavia, particularly in Norway.
Focusing on the results of specialized tests, for example, twenty meters of the race, and so-called sound test, the researchers analyzed more than one million children, whose age was in the range from nine to seventeen years.
“We found that the average child from Norway took the test in fourth place out of fifty. Higher rates were observed, except that children from Estonia, Iceland and Tanzania. Yet it is worth noting Denmark, the child population which only slightly lagged behind the leaders of the level of athletic training,” says Grant Tomkinson, associate Professor of kinesiology (the science the subject of study which is the movement of the body).
