This discovery was made by a German climber-Amateur in the Saxon Switzerland near Dresden.
In one of the clefts he by chance found the treasure – about a thousand silver coins. According to the Agency dpa, the oldest of them was minted in 1693. Climber immediately informed the police, who alerted archaeologists. The owner of the treasure, according to the law, is the Federal state of Saxony.
The exact place of discovery is not disclosed. The experts engaged in the processing of the treasure. The weight of the already catalogued 300 silver coins is about four pounds. Presumably, the treasure was laid in the years 1817-1820.
