An international team of underwater explorers found at the bottom of the Black sea, the wreckage of more than 40 ships from different eras.
Scientists from the USA, the UK, Bulgaria has initiated work to study the sharp rise of the level of the Black sea 12 thousand years ago and its impact on the population of adjacent territories.
Specialists conducted a survey of water area of the object area of more than two thousand square meters and found a remarkable discovery.
At the bottom was an incredible accumulation of sunken ships, which, moreover, is surprisingly well preserved. At a depth of from 150 to 2200 meters, scientists found more than 40 boats, the castaways from different eras.
The old ship is originally from the NINTH century. In those days a large part of the Black sea was under the control of the Byzantine Empire. Another part of the finds belong to the Ottoman period, and several ships sank in the NINETEENTH century.
Almost all of the ships are merchant ships that carried wine, metal, wood. Their downfall was caused by natural disasters. Next year the study of the Black sea will continue.
