During one of the expeditions to the North of the sea of Galilee, tel Hazor (Israel), a group of archaeologists found a large fragment (is 40×45 cm cm) Egyptian statues are made of limestone.
The find is a fragment of men’s feet, standing on a small pedestal with Egyptian hieroglyphs. According to preliminary calculations, the size of the statue is estimated at human height of a grown man.
According to the first attempt to read the inscriptions, the statue belonged to an Egyptian official, probably served in the Memphis — ancient Egyptian city and primary center of worship of the God Ptah.
Labels contain the traditional description of the burial, including gifts needed in the next world.
On the same property had previously been discovered a fragment of the Sphinx of Egyptian king mycerinus, who ruled in XXV century BC, Scientists believe that the findings confirm the significance of the place, which, perhaps, was once the administrative building of the local Governor.
