В Facebook и Google Chrome завелся троянA computer virus, “spamming” users.

Experts in the field of computer security reported the detection of malicious plug-in for Google Chrome that sends spam to Facebook.

This plugin can be considered a Trojan, dubbed BPlug.1074.

If a Chrome user, who installed this plugin, will be included in Facebook, the malware determines its identifier (UID) and makes changes to the design of the social networking site in the browser window. In particular, removed the menu “privacy shortcuts”, and also all the other drop-down menus that can be displayed in the interface of the social network.

After this Trojan gets a list of friends of the victim. Further, a new community page, whose name is generated automatically. Using the ID community, photographs of the victim, either as an avatar, and the address of the web page is retrieved from the configuration file, the malware generates post format “share link” and from a certain time interval places it in his belt.

Since Trojan when creating a new post “mentions” all friends of the current user from the previously obtained list, this message also appears in their timeline.

When you click on the link provided in the email, the user gets to a web page titled “Hello please watch my video” that copies the appearance of Facebook. If the victim uses the browser Chrome, when you try to view a video a dialog box appears with the option to download and install a browser plugin.

This plugin is in fact a copy of a Trojan. Today we know about thousands affected by malware BPlug.1074. By the way, in a similar way Trojan can spread to other plug-ins for Google Chrome
