HoloFlex flexible smartphone with a holographic screen

Engineers from Queen’s University in Kingston (Ontario, Canada) has created a prototype smartphone HoloFlex with a flexible holographic 3D display. Video presentation of the device was posted on the YouTube channel of the laboratory of Human Media Lab.

It is known that the HoloFlex flexible smartphone equipped with a holographic display, one layer of which is a microscopic lens that scatter light. Due to this, the screen displays a stereoscopic image that can see several people at the same time.

It is also reported that the resolution of the matrix display is 1080 pixels. However, due to the lens system it is reduced to 160×104 pixels.

In this three-dimensional image that can display the screen can be viewed without special glasses or other devices. To tell more about the gadget and submit it to the creators intend the conference ACM CHI 2016.

At the same time, information about it is already available on the official Internet portal of the laboratory of Human Media Lab.
