The Istanbul archaeological Museum announced the Commission of unique finds, when on the territory of Turkey during an emergency, it was found ancient burial mound.
The age of the mound is about 5 thousand years. Scientists hope from the resulting artifacts to learn about the history of the Republic.
In Istanbul’s Silivri district archaeologists stumbled upon the ancient Turkish burial mound, which is about five thousand years, writes portal Hurriyet Daily. Scientists hope that the discovery will help shed light on the history of the Republic.
During the emergency works at the end of 2015, the builders found an intact burial mound belonging, presumably, warrior or soldier, as the body left the tip of the spear. Archaeologists noticed that the earlier grave robbers tried to dig up the mound, however, to reach the burial chamber, they failed. Professor Mehmet Ozdogan of Istanbul University believes this burial of the ancient, when the mound will be able to shed light on some historical issues.
Istanbul archaeology Museum intends to put on display artifacts from the mound, although the final fate of burial will be decided by the Turkish authorities. Under the soil, archaeologists excavated a round room, lined with stones. Inside was a burial chamber, where rested the remains of a soldier, lying in the fetal position.
